GREEN COUNTY, MO (July 17, 2024) – Friday afternoon, a startling auto accident on Interstate 44 near Halltown injured 1 person.

The incident occurred at about 4:00 p.m. on Interstate 44 near Halltown. Reports said that a semi-truck didn’t yield for the traffic in the east lanes of Interstate 44. 

Moreover, the semi then collided with a few cars and overturned.

Reports indicate that an 18-year-old girl from Newkirk, Oklahoma was in the first car struck by the semi truck. She was transported to a Springfield hospital with serious injuries.

Additionally, the semi truck was hauling onions, which spilled across the interstate, causing traffic delays for several hours.
