Injuries Reported in Santa Barbara Vehicle Crash on Highway 101 and Bath Street

SANTA BARBARA, CA (December 26, 2023) – Monday night, a startling auto accident on Highway 101 and Bath Street injured 3 people.

The incident happened just before 11:00 p.m. on northbound Highway 101, just past the Bath Street offramp.

According to reports, the crash involved a Toyota Tundra pickup truck and a minivan.

After the collision, two people sustained critical injuries. Meanwhile, a third person suffered moderate injuries, said fire Battalion Chief Michael Hoose, who added that a multi-casualty incident was declared.

Then, an AMR ambulance took all patients to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. However, their identities and details of their conditions remained unknown.

Also, responders extricated the driver of the pickup, which came to rest on its side. Meanwhile, the authorities haven’t determined which vehicle traveled the wrong way.

Due to the debris on the road after the crash, at least three other vehicles sustained damage.

Also, the authorities rerouted the northbound traffic of the freeway at Bath Street, and the northbound freeway remained closed well past midnight.

Meanwhile, crews from the Montecito Fire Protection District responded to help with the incident.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
