Injuries Reported in Harlingen Multi-Vehicle Accident on 1300 N Ed Carey Drive

HARLINGEN, TX (October 4, 2023) – Tuesday afternoon, a startling 3-vehicle crash on 1300 N Ed Carey Drive injured 5 people.

The incident happened at around 4:06 p.m. on 1300 N Ed Carey Drive in Harlingen near the railroad tracks.

According to reports, a Ford Mustang traveled in the middle lane of Ed Carey Drive. Then, it changed lanes when unsafe and crashed with a Texas DPS patrol unit traveling southbound on the farthest left lane of Ed Carey.

The crash pushed the patrol unit onto the farthest right lane and collided with an Idea school bus.

Then, the school bus with 32 students and the driver onboard, was stationary at a traffic light on the farthest right lane north of Glasscock Avenue.

As a result of the crash, the bus driver and five students were taken to local hospitals for evaluation with non-life-threatening injuries.
