Injuries Reported in Amarillo Auto Accident on Crockett and Interstate 40

AMARILLO, TX (August 22, 2024) – Tuesday morning, a startling 2-vehicle crash on Crockett and Interstate 40 injured 1 person.

Reports said that the incident occurred around 8:51 a.m. on the eastbound access road at Crockett and Interstate 40.

Two individuals driving a truck in Amarillo mistakenly believed they were at a four-way stop and failed to yield to traffic traveling north and south. 

Then, the truck collided with the rear of a Toyota 4Runner, driven by a woman. The impact caused the 4Runner to overturn, and the woman was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 

Moreover, the occupants of the truck were unharmed. Meanwhile, the 4Runner was towed away, while the truck driver received a citation and was able to drive away after the investigation was completed.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
