Stanley Witt and Jean Witt Dead Following Olympia Accident on Capital Mall Drive
OLYMPIA, WA (October 7, 2021) – Wednesday morning, Stanley Witt, 83, and Jean Witt, 78, died in a four-vehicle crash on Cooper Point Road and Capital Mall Drive.
The deadly Olympia accident happened just after 10:00 a.m. on Cooper Point Road and Capital Mall Drive.
When the authorities arrived, they found two people dead at the scene. Authorities later identified the victims as Stanley and his wife Jean Witt.
Meanwhile, responders took a third person to an area hospital in critical condition.
Police Lt. Paul Lower said that they haven’t identified whether those three people were drivers or passengers. They also haven’t confirmed any other persons injured.
By 10:14 a.m., the Olympia police issued a traffic alert and urged residents to use alternate routes.
“There’s a lot of traffic up there,” Lower added. “That intersection is going to be closed for several hours.”
By 11:40 a.m., traffic was already moving in both directions on Cooper Point Road. However, the westbound traffic on Capital Mall Drive remained closed.
The Olympia Fire Department confirmed that the crash was a “four car motor vehicle accident.”
