Staff Sgt. Joshua Braica Dead after Camp Pendleton Incident
OCEANSIDE, CA (April 16, 2019) – A U.S. Marine died following a tactical-vehicle accident at Camp Pendleton on Saturday, April 13.
The Marine Corps identified the deceased as 29-year-old Staff Sgt. Joshua Braica, of Sacramento.
The Marine Raider, who was part of an elite special operations team, sustained severe injuries in the one-vehicle crash during a unit training exercise. Paramedics airlifted him for additional care to Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla, California. However, he succumbed to his injuries on Sunday night, according to the Marines.
Two other Marine Raiders also sustained injuries. They received treatments for minor injuries.
Additional information on the single-vehicle accident was not immediately available. An investigation is ongoing.
