47-Year-Old Spokane Valley Woman Hospitalized after Crash Near East Edler Road
SPOKANE COUNTY, WA (March 13, 2018) – A 47-year-old woman was injured in a motorcycle collision near Highway 27 and East Elder Road, on Tuesday afternoon around 4 PM.
Steven M Bilte, 65, of Spokane was driving southbound on the 27 highway in a Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck. At the same time, Stacie Sampson of Spokane Valley was riding her Harley Davidson FLHX motorcycle in the northbound lanes.
Bilte turned onto E Elder and Sampson crashed into the trunk. She suffered injuries and was airlifted to the Sacred Heart Medical Center for treatment. There is no update on the medical condition of Sampson. The truck was not injured in the accident the
The roadway was closed off for several hours during the investigation. Traffic was diverted around the Elder cutoff on Highway 27 until around 7 PM that same evening. Officials stated that the cause of the crash was failure to yield the right of way. Charges are pending at this time.
