Spring Valley Man and Others Injured in Car-Boat Crash on Interstate 5 [Chula Vista, CA]

Chula Vista, CA (October 25, 2021) – On Monday, a 48-year-old male driver from Spring Valley and two others suffered injuries in a car-boat crash on Interstate 5.

The traffic crash took place at around 12:30 a.m. on the northbound freeway, north of Palomar Street.

When the officers arrived at the scene, they found a 30-foot boat lying in the roadway near a damaged 2004 Mercedes-Benz E320.

Officers said the 2004 Mercedes-Benz E320 collided with the boat that fell off a trailer on Interstate 5.

Immediately, the paramedics treated the sedan’s driver with less serious injuries. Then, they rushed two occupants of the sedan to UCSD Medical Center with major trauma.

Moreover, the truck and trailer’s driver that was towing the boat drove right after the incident.

Officers are still looking for the involved driver.
