Male Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Car in Front of Monte Vista High School in Spring Valley
SPRING VALLEY, CA (January 17, 2019) – A man was killed following a pedestrian crash Thursday evening in Spring Valley.
The fatal crash happened around 8:21 p.m. at 3230 Sweetwater Springs Boulevard, just in front of Monte Vista High School.
According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department investigators, the victim was hit by a white sedan while walking on Sweetwater Springs Boulevard. He was not in a crosswalk when he was struck.
The man, believed to be in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.
The driver stayed at the crash site and alcohol was not believed to be a factor.
Sweetwater Springs Boulevard was closed between Austin Drive and Loma Lane during the investigation.
