43-Year-Old San Jose Man Fatally Struck By Vehicle On El Camino Real
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO (February 1, 2018)— A pedestrian from San Jose died after being struck by a car while crossing El Camino Real on Thursday morning around 6:25 AM.
The collision was reported to be in the southbound lanes of El Camino Road. The 43-year-old man was severely injured and died at the scene; his name has not been released by authorities. According to Sgt. Ken Chetcuti, the pedestrian was not on the crosswalk when he was hit by the vehicle.
Police stated that the driver stopped at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Authorities are still investigating the incident, but police said there did “not appear to be any criminal violations associated at this time.”
Traffic was impacted for several hours after the collision.
