Early Morning 4-Vehicle Wreck on Highway 101 in South San Francisco Turns Deadly
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, CA (December 23, 2018) – At least one person was killed following a multi-vehicle collision early Sunday morning in South San Francisco.
The fatal collision happened around 3:30 a.m. on northbound Highway 101 at North Access Road, near San Francisco International Airport.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a gray Honda Civic, a dark-colored Toyota RAV4 and two other vehicles collided, sending debris in all lanes. The Toyota SUV reportedly overturned and landed back on its wheels.
While the cause of the crash has not yet been determined, at least one fatality was found as a result of the accident.
The crash raised a SigAlert in the area, blocking all northbound lanes of Highway 101 at North Access Road for unknown duration. The alert was lifted roughly around 8:31 a.m.
Further details of the crash, including the identity of the victim, were not immediately available. The incident remains under investigation.
