4 Adults and 1 Child Hospitalized after Fourplex Balcony Collapses on South Wall Street
SOUTH PARK, CA (March 23, 2018) – Five people sustained moderate injuries following the collapse of a second-floor balcony in Downtown Los Angeles, early Friday evening.
A total of ten people were at the scene of the incident, which happened around 5:20 PM at the 4600 block of South Wall Street. One child and four adults (three women and a man) were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment and evaluation.
Their injuries were listed as moderate and non-life threatening. The other five declined hospitalization.
According to an initial investigation reports, a vehicle had struck the building. However, it was ruled out for having no basis in fact. The reason for the collapse is still unknown and under investigation. No other information is available at the time.
