Stolen Vehicle Involved in Hit-and-Run Collision near Cloverdale Street
SEATTLE, WA (November 25, 2018) – Sunday night, one woman was seriously injured in a stolen vehicle accident on State Route 509. The victim was later identified as 43-year-old Sophia Bob of Seattle.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision took place at approximately 8:00 PM, in the southbound lanes of State Route 509 near Cloverdale Street. Based on trooper reports, the victim was a passenger of a stolen sports car, later identified as a 1987 Pontiac Fiero.
The incident occurred as the Pontiac was speeding on the left side of the road, causing it to flip over several times. Bob was seriously injured and taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for treatment. Her injuries were considered non-life-threatening and updates on her condition have yet to be released. The driver fled the scene on foot and is still at large.
Renton Police was called to the scene and conducted a K9 track, but were unable to locate the suspect. No further information has been disclosed to the public, as an investigation is still ongoing.
