Two Drivers Injured in Head-On Collision on Highway 1 near Wright’s Beach
SONOMA COUNTY, CA (February 28, 2018) – At least two people were injured in a head-on crash on Highway 1 on Wednesday afternoon.
The collision occurred at around 3:11 PM at the entrance of Highway 1 to Wrights Beach. A black Ford Focus and a gray Toyota Corolla fell into a ditch, injuring at least two people as per the California Highway Patrol. Both drivers were trapped in their cars.
By 4:30 PM, the victims were being transported by ambulances to local hospitals for treatment of minor injuries, according to reports. One was sent to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital and the other to Sutter Regional Hospital in Santa Rosa. Authorities were working to reopen the roadway by that time.
Highway 1 was blocked because of the crash but the scene was cleared of debris and the two cars towed away within an hour.
