4 People Hospitalized After Crash on Thunderbird Road in Apple Valley

Apple Valley, CA (August 21, 2024) – A rollover crash on Thunderbird Road involving a single vehicle injured four people, one critically, on Wednesday evening.

The accident happened at 6:21 p.m. on August 21, 2024, on Thunderbird Road between Mesquite and Candlewood Roads. 

Firefighters from the Apple Valley Fire Protection District responded and found a white 2002 Chevy Suburban on its side.

Emergency responders reported that one person had critical injuries, while three others suffered minor injuries. 

They transported the critically injured person by ambulance to St. Mary’s Medical Center, where a Mercy Air helicopter was ready to transfer them to a trauma center.

The Apple Valley Police Department is investigating the cause of the accident and will provide updates as more information becomes available.

Sheriff’s spokeswoman Mara Rodriguez reported that the male driver suffered serious injuries and was flown to a trauma center. 

His condition is not currently known. A female adult passenger and two juvenile passengers also sustained injuries and were taken to a local hospital, with their conditions also unknown.
