2 People Hospitalized in Deadly Single-Vehicle Crash near Camp Pendleton
Oceanside, CA (June 27, 2023) On Sunday afternoon, a solo-car accident on Interstate 5 left a 21-year-old man from Inglewood dead and 2 people hurt.
According to California Highway Patrol (CHP), the deadly single-vehicle crash happened at about 1:29 p.m. near Camp Pendleton.
Reports say that the male driver was driving a Toyota SUV in the No. 2 northbound lane on I-5 when the Toyota veered off the roadway and collided with a tree, then flipped and caught fire.
Officials say that the driver was pronounced dead at the scene, while 2 other passengers on the Toyota, identified as a 26-year-old woman and a 3-year-old girl from Georgia, sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Both injured patients were transported to a hospital.
CHP is investigating the deadly single-vehicle crash and has not released additional details regarding the crash.
