Fort Cavazos Soldier Dies in Hit-and-Run Crash on Veterans Memorial Boulevard [Killeen, TX]

Killeen Vehicle Crash Results in Fatality

Killeen, TX (November 18, 2024) – A 20-year-old Fort Cavazos soldier was fatally injured following a hit-and-run crash on Veterans Memorial Boulevard early Sunday morning.

It was around 5 a.m. when the deadly crash happened at the parking lot shared by Blu Print Lounge and Spadez Club.

Killeen PD said the incident was originally reported at the Blu Print Lounge, however, responding officers said the lounge was closed and a fight with weapons was reported in the parking lot.

Troopers said one of the suspects fled the scene in a 2017 red Chevrolet Camero. Minutes later, the authorities located the vehicle crashed in the 100 block of South Twin Creek Drive.

Meanwhile, officers determined that the vehicle left the roadway, struck a utility pole, and jumped over railroad tracks.

Troopers declared the driver, a member of the US Army stationed at Fort Cavazos, deceased at the scene.

Anyone with further details on the Killeen vehicle crash is asked to call Killeen Police at 254-501-8830.
