Bike Rider Struck and Critically Injured by Pickup on 88th Street SE near US 2 Freeway
SNOHOMISH, WA (February 22, 2018) – A bicyclist suffered critical injuries after a collision with a car on 88th Street Southeast near the US 2 Freeway, on Thursday afternoon.
Around 3:30 PM, Washington State Patrol Trooper Heather Axtman happened to be in the area when a man was struck by a white pickup truck. He was riding on 88th St SE, when the vehicle hit him near the US 2.
Axtman responded to the scene and said that that biker was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, and suffered serious head injuries. There is no update on the condition of the victim.
When driving on the road, keep an eye out for bicyclists and pedestrians on the road, especially in residential areas or places where there are a lot of people. Remain in the speed limit and abide by the law when behind the wheel.
