3 Injured in Fresno Car Crash on California Avenue
FRESNO, CA (March 3, 2020) – Three people sustained injuries in a DUI car crash on California Avenue on March 1 in Fresno.
According to reports, authorities arrested a man who drove under the influence after he struck another car head-on in Fresno County. The incident occurred just before 6:30 p.m. near California Avenue and Cornelia Avenue.
The California Highway Patrol officers revealed that 56-year-old Sixto Lopez traveled east on California Avenue when he veered into the westbound lane and crashed head-on into an oncoming Chevrolet.
The officers added that Lopez sustained major non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Community Regional Medical Center.
Meanwhile, there were three occupants in the Chevy, including a 13-year-old and a 17-year-old boy. The teens sustained minor injuries, and responders took them to Community Regional Medical Center. Meanwhile, the 44-year-old driver Kenda Gutierrez didn’t sustain any injury.
The authorities arrested Lopez for DUI and booked him into the Fresno County jail.
