Marcos Cervantes, Luis Alfaro, Angelica Hernandez, and Adrian Perez Arrested after Police Chase Accident near Highway 101
OXNARD, CA (August 25, 2018) – Four people were arrested late Saturday evening, and two others were hospitalized following a high-speed pursuit crash on North Del Norte Boulevard.
As per reports, the incident started at about 11:15 PM in the 4900 block of Terrace Avenue. Officers with the Oxnard Police Department responded to the scene after receiving a domestic dispute call.
Upon their arrival, they saw a black Chrysler leaving the residence. The officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver allegedly failed to yield, initiating the chase. However, the pursuit started to exceed 100 miles per hour, and it had to be terminated along Highway 101. Moments later, the Chrysler got off the freeway and tried to turn near North Del Norte Boulevard where it lost control, rolled down an embankment, and landed on its roof.
Paramedics were requested on the scene to assist six people inside the wrecked vehicle. All occupants sustained injuries, but only two people remained in the hospital. Four of them were arrested on suspicion of felony offenses.
The driver, identified as 18-year-old Marcos Cervantes, was arrested on suspicion of felony vehicular evading causing injury and felony driving under the combined influence of alcohol and drugs with injury. He was booked into the Ventura County Jail with bail set at $110,000.
20-year-old Luis Alfaro was arrested on suspicion of felony assault with a deadly weapon, felony domestic abuse, and misdemeanor-level child endangerment. He remained in Ventura County jail with bail set at $35,000. 18-Year-Old Angelica Hernandez and 20-year-old Adrian Perez were also arrested on suspicion of felony assault with a deadly weapon.
