1 Person Dead in San Diego Auto Accident on 10400 Scripps Poway Parkway

SAN DIEGO, CA (December 16, 2023) – Thursday afternoon, a tragic single-vehicle crash on 10400 Scripps Poway Parkway killed one person.

Reports revealed that the incident happened at around 5:40 p.m. in the 10400 block of Scripps Poway Parkway.

According to the San Diego Police Department, a 2023 Tesla Model Y failed to negotiate a bend and crashed into the roadway’s center island before colliding with multiple trees. Then, the force of the crash ejected the driver of the Tesla into the roadway.

Moreover, responders pronounced the 82-year-old male driver of the Tesla, dead at the scene. Then, paramedics transported the 6-year-old passenger of the Tesla to a hospital with minor injuries.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the San Diego Police Department continued to investigate the crash.
