Lanes Close Following Crash on Interstate 5 and Smokey Bear Road
Gorman, CA (September 11, 2020) – A single-vehicle crash on Interstate 5 and Smokey Bear Road left four people injured on Thursday.
The incident took place on September 10 on Interstate 5 and Smokey Bear Road.
California Highway Patrol and Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the scene just after 1:15 p.m.
According to CHP Officer Josh Greengard, a red scion crashed into the embankment before it overturned.
The witnesses said the impact of the crash ejected one party from the vehicle.
Furthermore, responding officials requested two helicopters to respond to the incident. Medics treated four patients on the scene with three of them suffered major injuries.
The extent of the crash prompted the SigAlert to the closure of No. 3 and 4 lanes. Northbound Interstate 5, north of Vista Del Lago was closed for about 90 minutes, CHP said.
Moreover, authorities also requested animal control to respond to the pitbull involved in the incident. However, there was no further information about the dog’s condition.
