McKendrie Street Pedestrian Crash Kills 59-Year-Old Man
San Jose, CA (February 1, 2024) – 59-year-old Silvino Garcia of San Jose sustained fatal injuries following an Elm Street accident Monday.
The traffic accident was reported to the authorities at 6:11 a.m. on January 22 at McKendrie Street.
According to the investigating officers, the driver of a white garbage truck was turning from southbound Elm Street toward westbound McKendrie Street when he struck Garcia walking in the roadway.
Paramedics rushed Garcia to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. The authorities said the victim was initially in stable condition. However, Garcia succumbed to his injuries on January 26.
The driver remained at the crash scene.
Troopers said Garcia was in an unmarked crosswalk when he was struck by the vehicle.
Meanwhile, the authorities did not name the company operating the truck and there is no update if the driver involved in this accident was arrested or cited.
