5-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 5 Near Highway 26 Junction Prompts SigAlert
Santa Clarita, CA (January 10, 2021) – A multi-vehicle crash including a big rig on Interstate 5 prompted a SigAlert on Friday afternoon.
The incident took place on January 8 on Interstate 5 near the Highway 26 junction at about 3:30 p.m.
Sean Ferguson, PIO with L.A. County Fire said that the Los Angeles County Fire Department received a report of a collision involving five vehicles. According to California Highway Patrol Officer Elizabeth Kravig, five vehicles have collided including a big rig that overturned.
Due to the extent of the collision, officers have issued a SigAlert at 3:42 p.m. The alert closed the eastbound side of Highway 126 to the northbound side of Interstate 5.
However, the duration of the alert is still unknown. Furthermore, it is also unknown what events led up to the crash.
