Timothy Wedlund Arrested for DUI and Vehicular Assault near State Route 162
ORTING, WA (May 13, 2018) – Two people were hospitalized Saturday afternoon following a head-on collision near 177th Street. The victims were later confirmed to be 22-year-old Sierrah Rodarte, a resident of Spanaway, and an unidentified juvenile.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened at around 3 PM along Pioneer Street near 177th Street East. A vehicle, driven by 56-year-old Timothy Wedlund of Bonney Lake, was traveling on State Route 162 when it drifted off the road. Wedlund attempted to correct and go back, but swerved and collided head-on with a second vehicle, driven by Rodarte.
Officers found Rodarte and an unidentified juvenile inside the vehicle. Both sustained injuries and were transported to the Good Samaritan Hospital for treatment. Wedlund was reportedly unharmed from the incident.
Authorities arrested Wedlund on the suspicion of DUI and vehicular assault. Areas affected from the collision were temporarily shut down for approximately four hours for clearing operations and an in-depth investigation.
