Vehicle of Shooting Suspects Crashes Into School Bus in Davis High School
Yakima, WA (February 26, 2021) – A shooting incident on Garfield Elementary School that led to crash on Davis high School left one teen injured on Wednesday.
The incident happened on February 24 when a teen suspect shot a 16-year-old boy outside Garfield Elementary School. Responding officials arrived soon after a staff of the nearby school immediately called 911.
Yakima Police Chief Matt Murray said that a fight between two teens seemed to have started the shooting. Murray said that the suspect possibly shot the boy twice.
Medics transported him to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Furthermore, the suspects fled the scene when the officers arrived. However, about two hours later, police spotted a reportedly stolen vehicle. There were four occupants inside the car when the police found it.
The car then took off and a 100-mph police chase on Yakima streets happened. The suspects’ car crashed into a school bus near Davis High School before rolling over several times. Moreover, the car collided with another car.

The impact of the crash left the occupants of the car, three teenage boys and a teenage girl injured. Multiple ambulances transported the four of them to the hospital for treatments. Later, police found a gun from one of them and is believed to be involved in the shooting incident at Garfield Elementary School.
Medics also took the school bus driver to the hospital after sustaining minor injuries from the crash.
Police reported that there were no students in the school when the incident took place. They believed that the shooting was gang-related.
