Phoenix, AZ (September 20, 2023) – Wednesday evening, 78-year-old Shokriya Raies died, and two others sustained injuries in a head-on crash on 35th Avenue and West Greenway Road.

The fatal crash happened on September 20.

Phoenix Police said Raies was taken to the hospital in extremely critical condition where she later died.

Moreover, a woman in her 40s was also hospitalized in critical condition alongside an adult male with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators believe the man disregarded the right of way and swerved in front of the Raies’ car and the other woman. Authorities don’t believe impairment played a role in the accident.
