4 People Hurt in Greentop Multi-Vehicle Accident on US Highway 63
GREENTOP, MO (September 18, 2024) – Monday afternoon, Shirley Watt and three other people sustained injuries in a disastrous 4-vehicle crash on US Highway 63.
The incident happened at around 2:30 p.m. Monday on U.S. Highway 63, 1 mile south of Greentop.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a van rear-ended a northbound pickup truck that stopped in the roadway to make a left turn. Then, the force of the crash pushed the pickup into the southbound lane, where it collided with a second pickup truck, and then collided with a third pickup before it rolled over onto its side.
Responders rushed the driver of the third pickup, identified a 76-year-old Watt, to Northeast Regional Medical Center with serious injuries. Then, paramedics transported a passenger of the third pickup, identified as 68-year-old Paul Kennedy with moderate injuries, and the driver of the second pickup, identified as 22-year-old Keith Steen with moderate injuries, to Northeast Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Authorities said that the driver of the van, identified as 32-year-old Neil Mehta who sustained minor injuries, was transported to Northeast Regional Medical Center by a private vehicle.
The driver of the first pickup, identified as 33-year-old Brian Western, was not hurt in the collision.
At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
Due to the limited information available, the Missouri State Highway Patrol continued to investigate the crash.
