Sleet, Snow Causes Head-On Crash in Shingletown
SHINGLETOWN, CA (March 7, 2019) – Two people were seriously injured following a head-on collision Thursday afternoon in Shingletown.
The collision happened around 4:19 p.m. on Highway 44 at Smith Creek Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a gray Jeep and yellow Volkswagen were involved. One of the cars reportedly spun out on a sleet, slippery road and collided head-on with the other.
Three occupants were extricated from a vehicle, two of them suffered major injuries and the other one sustained minor injuries.
Paramedics transported the injured patients to a hospital for proper treatment.
Both vehicles were towed away from the collision scene.
Authorities are still investigating the crash and urging witnesses to come forward with information.
