Spokane, WA (December 20, 2024) On Wednesday evening, 81-year-old Carol Johnson was killed in a wrong-way crash on I-90 that injured Sherman and Stacy Reese
According to the Washington State Patrol (WSP), the horrific crash happened at about 10:30 p.m. on Interstate 90 late Wednesday night.
Reports say that the wrong-way crash led to the death of Johnson, a Medical Lake resident, and injured two others.
Authorities say that Johnson was driving a Chevy Aveo westbound in the eastbound lanes around 10:30 p.m. when she collided head-on with a Chevy Silverado near the West Plains Amazon warehouse.
Johnson succumbed to her injuries at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center. The pickup’s driver, 68-year-old Sherman Reese and passenger, 57-year-old Stacy Reese, both of Deer Park, sustained injuries and were transported to the same hospital for treatment.
WSP confirmed that all individuals involved were wearing seat belts.
