Concord Hit-and-Run Crash Leaves Shelly Stevens Dead, Anthony Johnathan Buscemi Arrested
Concord, CA (September 5, 2020) – On Saturday, 35-year-old Shelly Stevens of Lafayette died in a hit-and-run crash on Marsh Road.
The Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Department said that sheriff’s deputies together with the California Highway Patrol responded to a report of a body found in the 5000 block area.
Upon arrival, they found a deceased female on the roadway.
Subsequently, the CHP said evidence shows that Stevens was struck by a vehicle.
Moreover, during the investigation, a sheriff’s deputy located the suspect vehicle nearby.
Later, authorities classified the Concord hit-and-run as vehicular homicide and the sheriff’s office took over the primary investigation.
Meanwhile, the authorities continue to investigate the fatal incident on Marsh Road.
As a result, police arrested Anthony Johnathan Buscemi in connection to the incident. He is now being charged with gross vehicular manslaughter and DUI.
