Shattuck Avenue Accident Kills Man on Wheelchair [Berkeley, CA]

Police Investigates Truck-Pedestrian Collision on Bancroft Way

Berkeley, CA (October 21, 2022) On Thursday morning, a traffic accident on Shattuck Avenue claimed the life of a man on a wheelchair.

Berkeley police say that the deadly truck-pedestrian collision happened at about 11:55 a.m. at the intersection with Bancroft Way.

Authorities say that a westbound commercial truck struck a man sitting on a wheelchair. Reports say that man was under the truck and he was conscious and aware after the collision.

Afterward, paramedics transported the patient to Highland Hospital in Oakland and where the victim later died.

Officials say that the driver stayed at the scene and was not showing signs of impairment.
