17-Year-Old Colorado Springs Teen Killed in Pedestrian Crash near Purcell Drive
COLORADO SPRINGS, CO (July 29, 2018) – A teenager was killed Sunday evening after she was struck by a vehicle near Purcell Drive.
As per reports, the incident happened at about 9 PM in the area of Pring Ranch Road and Purcell Drive. 17-year-old Colorado Springs resident Shara Anderson was walking her dog when she was struck by a Mazda sedan.
The victim was rushed to an area hospital in critical condition. Unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead by medical staff.
Authorities confirmed that the driver stopped at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Alcohol, drugs, and speeding were ruled out as possible contributing factors in the fatal crash. The driver has not been charged, but the investigation continues.
