Injuries Reported in Scott County Auto Accident on Route NN
SCOTT COUNTY, MO (July 17, 2024) – Tuesday afternoon, Shanice Gipson sustained injuries in a startling hit-and-run crash on Route NN.
The incident occurred just after 4:00 p.m. on Route NN, around 3.5 miles west of Charleston.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 25-year-old Gipson was driving northbound when a southbound vehicle struck her car. The impact forced Gipson’s vehicle off the right side of the road and into a tree.
Gipson was transported to a Sikeston hospital with moderate injuries. Troopers reported that she was wearing a seat belt.
The driver of the other vehicle remains unidentified, having fled the scene before authorities arrived. The unknown vehicle reportedly sustained minor damage. Gipson’s car was towed from the scene with moderate damage.
At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
