2 People Killed in Horrific Traffic Accident near Grizzly Gulch Road
Redding, CA (February 16, 2024) On Wednesday evening, 39-year-old Shane Grimes was involved in a horrific crash on Highway 299 that led to the demise of 2 people.
According to the CHP, the fatal traffic accident happened at about 10:58 p.m. on westbound Highway 299, west of Grizzly Gulch Road.
Reports say that Grimes was driving a 2002 Ford Ranger when fell asleep while driving and veered off the north roadway edge of Highway 299.
Consequently, the vehicle went down an embankment and rolled over, the vehicle ended up on its roof facing wet.
Authorities say that after the crash, Grimes exited his vehicle and called 911. Officials found a man and a woman dead at the scene.
The CHP is investigating the fatal traffic accident and has not released further information at this time.
