YUBA COUNTY, CA (February 28, 2024) – Monday night, Shane Bunn died in a fatal DUI crash on Feather River Boulevard near Murphy Road.

The incident happened at around 8:00 p.m. along Feather River Boulevard, north of Murphy Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a southbound Toyota Corolla attempted to pass a BMW, a Honda CRV, and a white Nissan Altima, by driving between the CRV and the Altima. Then, the Corolla sideswiped the Altima and the BMW and rear-ended the CRV. Also, the force of the crash pushed the CRV to crash down an embankment and collided with a concrete block culvert.

Moreover, responders pronounced the driver of the CRV, identified as 34-year-old Bunn of Marysville, dead at the scene.

Furthermore, officers arrested the driver of the Corolla, identified as 50-year-old Larry Lee Anderson Jr. of Plumas Lake, who left the scene after the crash, on suspicion of second-degree murder and gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, and other charges.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the CHP continued to investigate the crash.
