Sha’Mya Silas and 2 Others Dead in Fiery Baker Accident Involving Semi Truck on I-15
BAKER, CA (August 10, 2020) – On Saturday evening, three people died, including Sha’Mya Silas, while several suffered injuries in a fiery accident on the 15 Freeway.
The incident occurred just after 7:00 p.m. on the northbound 15 Freeway near Baker. According to reports, an SUV struck the back of a semi-truck and caught fire.
Upon the firefighters’ arrival, they found the vehicle that caught fire with occupants still inside.
Reports revealed that the fire immediately spread from the SUV to the 53-foot general cargo truck loaded with clothing.
According to scanner traffic, three helicopters responded on the freeway. It airlifted 15-year-old Sha’Mya Silas, a child, and the child’s mother to the Las Vegas University Medical Center.
The incident left one person with critical injuries, 3 people with moderate injuries, and caused three fatalities.
Sherrie Martinez, cousin of one of the victims, identified as Sha’Mya Silas, kickstarted a Gofundme to raise money for her memorial expenses.

At around 9:45 p.m., the firefighters managed to extinguish the fire.
Furthermore, the authorities withhold the identity of the other deceased victims due to pending family notification.
Officers from the CHP Barstow Station spearheads the crash investigation.
