Injuries Sustained in Victorville Car Accident
VICTORVILLE, CA (April 5, 2019) – Several people sustained injuries after a sleepy driver caused a collision on April 4.
The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m on Palmdale Road just east of Borego Road. According to authorities, the collision involved a Nissan sedan and a Victor Valley Transit Authority bus.
Meanwhile, Deputy Ramos with the Victorville Police Department stated that a silver 2015 Nissan Sentra driver collided into the back of the bus. The bus was parked on the south side of Palmdale Road.
Victorville Fire Captain David Groat said that the initial report revealed a collision with one person trapped. However, upon their arrival, the sedan driver already went out of the vehicle.
Furthermore, four additional victims are from the bus. Medics transported two people by ambulance.
In addition, a woman sat in the rear of the bus with her baby and small children when the collision occurred.
“We’ve never been in a crash before, so it was really scary. We’re going to the hospital to get checkout out,” she said.
The Nissan driver revealed that he drove home from the end of a work shift. He also admitted that he’s tired.
“We don’t suspect drugs or alcohol contributed to the crash,” Deputy Ramos said.
Due to the collision, a traffic jam occurred in the area for around one hour. The crash caused a traffic jam for those traveling in the area for about an hour.
