Six Vehicles Involved in Collision near 35th Avenue
OAKLAND, CA (September 17, 2018) – Several motorists were injured in a multi-car crash on 580 Freeway, on Monday afternoon.
According to reports from the California Highway Patrol, the collision took place at approximately 3:00 PM, just west of 35th Avenue. The authorities recovered at least six vehicles at the scene of the accident, although descriptions of the involved cars were not immediately released.
Emergency paramedics responded to the scene and stated that injuries were stated in the collision. It is unclear how many people were injured, but their injuries were considered to be minor. One of the vehicles was said to have hit debris in the road from the initial five-car collision, but events leading up to the incident are unclear at this time.
The No. 2, 3, and 4 lanes of the freeway were closed as clearing operations took place and a preliminary investigation was conducted in the area. Other details related to the incident were not yet disclosed by officials, as they continue to investigate.
