Injuries Reported in Byron Auto Accident on Byron Highway and Camino Diablo
BYRON, CA (March 20, 2022) – Friday night, several people suffered injuries in a head-on crash on Byron Highway and Camino Diablo.
The incident occurred just before 11:00 p.m. on Byron Highway, south of Camino Diablo in Byron.
According to reports, the crash involved four to five vehicles. Moreover, Engine 59 said that the crash involved three vehicles with five patients and one person trapped in the wreckage.
When the responders arrived, they requested two air ambulances. Reports revealed that a semi-trailer truck driver noticed a speeding car driving south across the yellow line. Then, it collided head-on with a northbound Acura.
Moreover, the crash left one woman with multiple leg bone breaks. Then, the helicopter transported two women to a trauma center. Then, one of the women was stuck in the Acura. Thus, firefighters used the jaws of life to free her from the wreckage.
Then, a ground ambulance transported two other patients.
As a result, all the East Contra Costa’s fire engines were used. Furthermore, the California Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash.
