Snowfall near Denny Creek Causes Snoqualmie Pass Car Accident
SNOQUALMIE PASS, WA (February 6, 2020) – Several crashes happened Tuesday afternoon following heavy snowfall near Denny Creek in Snoqualmie Pass.
Washington State Department of Transportation revealed that a semi-truck jack-knifed near Denny Creek shortly before 3:00 p.m. While crews worked on scene, numerous spin-outs near the summit led a full closure of eastbound lanes at 4:45 p.m.
The crash blocked all westbound travel on 90 Freeway for several hours. However, the freeway near Denny Creek reopened in both directions by 6:30 p.m.
Authorities then requested chain requirements for all vehicles traveling through snowfall, except those equipped with all-wheel drive.
