3-Vehicle Crash on Highway 154 in Lake Cachuma Injures 7
LAKE CACHUMA, CA (September 14, 2019) – Seven people were injured following a three-vehicle head-on crash Saturday evening in Lake Cachuma.
The crash happened around 7:15 p.m. on Highway 154.
According to the CHP, a BMW carrying two people was traveling eastbound when it crossed over the center line. It then slammed head-on into a westbound Toyota Tacoma with four occupants. A third vehicle, driven by a woman, then struck both vehicles.
A CalStar medical helicopter landed on Highway 154 to transport one woman with major injuries to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.
Meanwhile, AMR ambulances took three other patients to Cottage Hospital for treatment of moderate injuries. Three others with minor injuries were treated at the scene.
Highway 154 was closed while crews worked on the scene.
CHP officials are still investigating the cause of the crash.
