Carmelo Chavez Tolentino Arrested in Fafal Collision
Wenatcheee, WA (December 21, 2021) – On Monday, 23-year-old Servando Martinez Tiburcio of Orondo died officers arrested 39-year-old Carmelo Chavez Tolentino, also of Orondo, in a fatal crash on US 2.
Officers said Tolentino was westbound in a 2001 Honda Accord in a snowy condition near Turtle Rock Road.
Suddenly, he lost control of the vehicle. It spun out and rested in the oncoming lane.
Then, 68-year-old Thad Duvall of East Wenatchee driving a 2009 Ford Escape struck the sedan. He is the Douglas County Auditor.
Tiburcio, Tolentino’s passenger sustained serious injuries. Officers pronounced him dead at the crash scene.
Moreover, the rescuers took Duvall and Tolentino by ambulance to Central Washington Hospital with to be non-serious injuries.
Later on, officers arrested Tolentino for speeding too fast for conditions and for not having a valid driver’s license.
