Sergio Hernandez Struck and Killed by Vehicle in Accident on Highway 145

Fresno County, CA (January 23, 2021) – On Friday, Sergio Hernandez, 45, died in a deadly pedestrian accident on Highway 145.

The fatal incident took place at about 7 p.m., north of Belmont Avenue.

Apparently, the pedestrian, a Kerman resident, walked directly in the path of an SUV.

As a result, he was thrown onto the northbound lane, where another vehicle struck him. Subsequently, he died at the scene.

Meanwhile, the authorities closed the roadway between Belmont Avenue and Olive Avenue. It was reopened after an hour.

We at Sweet Lawyers offer our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Sergio Hernandez. Our thoughts are with you during this difficult time.

Fatal Pedestrian Accidents

While car accidents are far more common than pedestrian accidents, there is still reason to be wary when traveling on foot.

Moreover, common locations for these pedestrian incidents include shopping center entrances and street corners, but even highways as well.

“Pedestrian accidents do not occur as much as motor vehicle accidents, but the pedestrian accidents tend to include more serious injuries,” says Tyler Toomey, a practicing attorney at Sweet Lawyers.
