Police Officer Hurt in DUI Accident Near Golden State Highway
BAKERSFIELD, CA (October 2, 2019) – Police arrested Sergeant Jeff Saso after a DUI crash on Rosedale Highway on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened near Blosser Road after 1:00 PM.
The Bakersfield Police Department said that Saso was off duty when he lost control and crashed his motorcycle into the center median of the road.
The officer sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. In addition, a passenger riding with Saso sustained minor visible injuries and refused treatment.
Saso was said to be under the influence at the time of accident and was placed under administrative leave while BPD conducts their investigation.
