Elsa Yanez-Henriques, Serafin Barajas Corona, and 1 Other Injured in Collision near Yonazawa Boulevard
MOSES LAKE, WA (November 26, 2018) – On Saturday morning, three people were injured in an accident on State Route 17.
According to officials with the Washington State Patrol, the collision took place near Yonazawa Boulevard. Based on reports from troopers, there were two vehicles involved in the auto accident.
It all began when 93-year-old Richard Smith of Ephrata ran a red light while attempting to make a left turn from the highway. There, he struck an oncoming vehicle, driven by 65-year-old Serafin Barajas Corona of Warden.
Smith was not injured, but his 92-year-old wife was transported to Samaritan Hospital for treatment. Corona and his passenger, 56-year-old Elsa Yanez-Henriquez of Warden, were treated for injuries at the same hospital. There is no update on either person’s current medical conditions.
No charges were filed, and no additional information was released to the public, as the investigation continues.
