Fresno Train Collision
FRESNO, CA (March 26, 2020) – A semi-truck was split into two after a collision with a train on Willow Avenue Wednesday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred on March 25 just after 3:00 a.m. on Willow Avenue and Golden State Boulevard.
The CHP officers also revealed that the involved truck was hauling a shipment of power aid sports drinks. However, the truck’s landing gear for its trailer got caught on the tracks.
For around 20 minutes, the truck was stuck. At the same time, a train approached and then hit the truck.
According to the conductor, he noticed the truck but could not stop the moving train in time.
As a result of the crash, the truck’s trailer was broken into two and the load was spilled.
Meanwhile, the authorities shut down Willow and Central Avenues while crews clean up the debris.
Luckily, no one suffered any injuries in the collision.
Authorities are still investigating the collision and officers also said they may inspect the tracks.
