SISD Students Hospitalized after Crash on SH 115 in Andrews County

Andrews County, TX (October 27, 2023) – On Friday afternoon, six people sustained injuries in a crash on SH 115.

In a statement on social media, Slaton ISD said the people involved in the crash were part of the SISD athletic training team and were on their way to the team’s Friday night soccer game in Kermit.

The SISD SUV was traveling westbound on SH 115 approaching FM 2371, while the semi was traveling southbound on FM 2371 and had stopped at the intersection with SH 115 marked with a stop sign.

According to DPS, the driver of the semi-truck disregarded the right-of-way at a stop sign and collided with SISD’s SUV.

Four SISD students and one SISD faculty member were taken to Permian Regional Medical Center in Andrews and are in stable condition.

The driver of the semi-truck was also taken to the hospital.

No additional information is immediately available.
