Catherine Mae King Velvetrose Injured in Highway 108 Traffic Collision

Oakdale, CA (September 9, 2022) On Wednesday, 20-year-old Sebastian Ruiz and 5 other people were injured in a 2-vehicle crash on Highway 108.

Authorities say that the traffic collision between a 2004 Chevrolet SUV and a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado pickup happened around 9:20 p.m. east of Lancaster Road.

Reports say that 17-year-old Catherine Mae King Velvetrose of Mountain House driving west on the SUV enter into the path of the pickup.

Velvetrose suffered minor injuries due to the crash. Paramedics transported her to Oak Valley Hospital in Oakdale.

Furthermore, rescuers extricated Ruiz who was pinned inside the vehicle. Paramedics transported him to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto via helicopter.

Meanwhile, 4 young adult males on the pickup suffered injuries as well. Paramedics transported 3 of the men who suffered major injuries to Modesto trauma centers.

Additionally, 1 patient suffered minor injuries and medics took him to Oak Valley Hospital.

California Highway Patrol is investigating the crash and says that all major injury patients were air-lifted to hospitals, while CHP does not believe impairment was not a factor in the incident.
