SEATAC, WA – Man Injured in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident on Military Street South

Pedestrian Struck and injured in Crash near S 135th and S 138th Streets

SEATAC, WA (March 22, 2018) – A man was struck and injured by a hit-and-run driver on the 13600 block of Military Street South, early Thursday morning.

The accident took place on the intersection of Military St S and South 135th Street, around 1:30 AM. Police were called by passing drivers that saw a man lying in the middle of the roadway.

Officials and emergency personnel arrived at the scene of the accident, and transported the victim to the Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. He was said to be a man in his 30s and he sustained life-threatening injuries. His current condition is unknown at this time.

Military Rd S was closed between S 135th and S 138th streets for several hours, while the King County Sheriff’s Office Major Accident Response and Reconstruction (MARR) team investigated the scene. Police have a photo of the suspect vehicle, which is a white, cargo-style van with a noticeable roof rack on the roof.

If you have seen this car, or witnessed the accident, contact the King County Sheriff’s Office by calling the non-emergency line at (206) 296-3311.

Look for pedestrians, motorcyclists, and bicyclists on the road when driving, especially when it is dark. By being more cautious and aware of your surroundings, dangerous and even fatal accidents may be prevented. Keep yourself and others safe, by getting behind the wheel when emotionally and mentally present.
